Notes from Off Track (Busy Off Season)

- James went to Twin Peaks on Wednesday for the first time on a Wednesday and it is A Thing (google it, it won’t disappoint hehe) 👙

- Then Alex went on a Cracker Barrel hype because ofc 🛢️

- Post AD F1 test - Alex was a proud BF talking about Pato and the struggles he’s had in an F1 car over the last few years but how much better he got on this year 🥰🥰

- Yuki in the Red Bull - James reckons Honda have pushed it, and Red Bull had been under pressure because of Yuki’s form. He did acknowledge teams can sabotage timings to make him not appear as fast, but ultimately he thinks that Lawson to Red Bull is a done deal atp 🇯🇵 🇳🇿

- Talked about Dev being back with RLL (Alex said the fact it’s multi-year is irrelevant cos they all are) but Alex seemed a little surprised he had gone there from conversations he had been having 📑

- New IndyCar car design - new car coming in 2027 and they’re getting initial ideas and stuff now, but a lot of team owners didn’t think it was a huge evolution in reality, even though there are newer bits to it and it will be better from all standpoints (aeroscreen, safety, weight, cockpit, cooling etc) 🆕

- James (and Alex) doesn’t think it matters as much if they look different just if it behaves differently, and the drivers are good (and Alex still thinks it looks decent) 😎

- James said they need to work more collaboratively with the teams to design things before spending too long on it and then getting feedback that is negative 👫

- Discussed Dreyer and Reinbold potentially joining the grid in a few years and the logistics of having more teams and more cars meaning they have the shootout for qualifying and the absolute carnage of that 😈

- Talked about PREMA and their new signings, and all the things they’re doing to try be successful in Indy (wooo Cal!!) 🔴

- Discussed Gavin Ward leaving McLaren and TK being in charge of a race team two years after driving (awesome and terrifying) and called him the Frank Underwood of Indycar and Thim made nose jokes as his only contribution 👃🏻

- There are THREE SEATS LEFT: one at JHR, two at DCR (lbr we will know this on day one of the season and probably will be split between people) - Conor has to raise money to get one of the seats that are left but he had to say no to D&R to have a guaranteed 500 seat 💰

- James thinks the baggage claim belt is an indication of how intelligent people are, so STAND BACK PEOPLE or James will think you are stupid 🧳
